 Jamie and Suzie Peters run painting holidays in SW France; art courses in drawing, watercolour, oils and mixed media.  Daily tuition by professional painter and musician Jamie Peters BA (Hons) Fine Art. Creative and inspiring painting holidays, individually structured for artists of all abilities - from complete beginners to the more experienced painter. Tutored courses are residential with local french gourmet meals, delicious vegetarian options, and local wines.

Celebrating 16 years of painting in S.W.France
Gascony Painting Holidays are held at Le Grand Barbe, an 18thC farmhouse near the small medieval town of Marciac, home of artists Jamie and Suzie Peters. Gascony is surprisingly tourist-free, as it boasts some of the finest countryside in France. From the stunning hilltop ‘bastides’ (fortified villages), fields of maize and sunflowers, terracotta-roofed farmhouses to the spectacular views of the Pyrénées, this area is described as 'the Tuscany of France'.

Set on a ridge overlooking farmland and wooded valleys, Grand Barbe offers spacious, en-suite rooms with traditional shuttered windows, oak beams and cool tiled floors. The atmosphere is friendly and informal and, having escaped the day-to-day stresses of life, you will be given every encouragement to relax and do as much or as little work as you wish. Non-painting partners are also very welcome.

Untutored painting breaks and B&B are also available throughout the year, excluding tutored holiday dates (Click on 'Dates and Prices' for details). This is popular in August with jazz enthusiasts who like hot weather and can enjoy both painting and music during the Marciac Jazz Festival (see www.jazzinmarciac.com) We don't run painting courses in August as many people find it too hot to sit out in the landscape at this time.
